The Lal Masjid operation is a case study of how an appropriately timed, meticulously planned and boldly executed operation launched in the supreme national interest can be distorted by vested interests who want to present it as a disaster. I would like to elaborate/clarify various issues which have been distorted. “Hundreds of innocent people were killed which included scores of women and children.” This is an absolute lie. Firstly none of those killed were innocent. They were terrorists (including five foreigners) who took the law in their own hands and killed a number of policemen, kidnapped and physically tortured Chinese citizens (causing embarrassment to the government) and burnt down Ministry of Environment offices, property and vehicles.

They had stored arms and explosives in the mosque and were equipped/prepared for suicide bombings. Secondly the numbers killed were NINETY FOUR and not a single woman or child was killed. This can be ascertained by digging their graves and counting. “The operation was launched overriding efforts to end the occupation peacefully.” Nothing could be farther from the truth. The siege of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa was started about six months before the operation. There were about two thousand five hundred girls in Jamia Hafsa and an equal number of men who had taken over Lal Masjid.

Despite all the pressure on the government in the media to act and evict the occupants who were challenging the writ of the government and causing immense embarrassment, the decision taken was to negotiate a peaceful settlement to avoid casualties. In the months that followed, representatives from Wafaqul Madaris and the Council of Islamic Ideology were sent to negotiate, Maulana Edhis’ wife was sent to pacify the girls and even Imam Kaaba was gracious enough to contribute towards an amicable end to the confrontation.

Besides this, a number of politicians and notables also tried their best to resolve the issue. All this was to no avail. The primary concern before launching the operation was how to avoid casualties. The operation was launched only after all efforts towards a negotiated settlement failed and maximum occupants including all women and children were drawn out. The individuals left were all hardened terrorists including five foreigners who refused to surrender and decided to fight it out.

We as Pakistanis must realise that we cannot be known internationally as a “Soft State” or a “Banana Republic” where there is no writ of the government. The government has to be strong enough to meet any challenge to its authority. Then only can we emerge as a stable, strong, respectable country in the comity of nations. We also have to make sure that religion is not misused to challenge the state and spread extremism in the society.

Lal Masjid operation stands as a tribute to the gallantry of all the soldiers, especially of SSG, rangers and policemen who participated in the operation. May all the Shaheeds rest in peace, Ameen.

Last Friday proved to be disappointing and shameful for investment fraternity in Pakistan when Pakistan’s apex corporate regulator, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), finalized its nine months long investigation into, what could be called, as Pakistan’s first insider trading case.

According to the available documents – SECP revoked the license of Dawood Capital Management and imposed a penalty of Rs 2 Crore on its CEO Tara Uzra Dawood.

According to an interview to Saturday Post, Tara Uzra proudly explained Dawood Capital Management as Pakistan’s first listed asset management company and the only investment advisory to specialize in the money management of women, children and charities.

Tara Uzra Dawood, who is a graduate of Cornell University and Harvard Law School, who is also writing as a freelance writer for The Toronto Star, Dawn, The Friday Times and Libas International, was found guilty of having defrauded investors in the mutual funds managed by Dawood Capital by taking leverage of her position as CEO and her knowledge of an impending write-down in the value of the mutual funds.

SECP’s investigations revealed that Dawood Capital Management had invested in corporate bonds issued by several companies including Pace Pakistan, Maple Leaf Cement Factory, Pak Elektron, and Telecard, that had defaulted on their obligations to bondholders.

In a meeting of the company’s audit committee held on February 21, 2012, Dawood Capital’s auditors advised that the company take a write-down on the value of the investments in the bonds issued by those companies.

The board of directors meeting held on the same day approved that course of action, though it was decided that the precise amount of the write-downs would be determined and approved at the next board meeting, to be held on April 28, 2012.

At that next board meeting, it was decided that the value of the Dawood Income Fund needed to be written down by 7.36%, the Dawood Islamic Fund by 16.8%, and the First Dawood Mutual Fund by about 9%. The new, lower values would take into effect on April 30.

But, just before the meeting, between April 6 and April 26, Tara Dawood, her brother Ayaz, her mother Hamida, sold their stake worth around Rs 1.55 Crore to avoid possible losses and taking advantage of her position and knowledge as the CEO of Dawood Capital Management.

Other affiliated companies of Dawood Group managed to get rid of Rs 11 Crore of units in soon to be devalued fund.

When someone says He or She Still loves me,than he or she is FOOLING her or himself,as there is no word “STILL” in love…Whether there is love or No love..but there is no possibility of word “STILL” in love relationships…Once broken can not be the same as unbroken..one can pick the pieces and try to rejoin them with logic’s illusions, round words, beautiful sentences and emotional gestures, but broken is broken…Broken bonds can never be the same when once its bad broken..People who try to remake rebuild collapsed relationships they stay unhappy in long run, because when word STILL enters in any relationship that is the sign of START OF STINK in the relationship or love or whatever…Thats foolish peoples ideas of thinking of COME BACK in love, that only fools would fail to know that whether love remains love stays love sticks or love goes, love leaves,or love nonstick ..because love when happens,it becomes so strong that millions of tons weight cant crush it and when love starts getting feeble and weak it can be crushed with one Single harmless word unwanted…I believe that if someone loves someone he or she will go through the gates of hell with the beloved and shall avoid the possibility to let word STILL come in way of love of two of them..
I LOVE YOU is a briefest word to tell other how important someone is to you,but it has unlimited commitments bonds which people forget to fulfill and they start RAPING this word for their ulterior motives…In today’s time people get in love fast and with the same speed they turn that love into hatred .. that’s not love, that’s saturation, that’s lust, that’s something selfish which brings two people close to each other and later they separate…Love needs TOLERANCE,love needs understandings, love needs respect for each other and love needs to accept other parts right to disagree and freedom of speech, love needs to give comfort, love needs to realize others right to exist, love needs to feel the pains of beloved, love needs to keep beloved out of pressures and away from burdens and mental stresses, love need hell of sacrifices, and heavens of supports for each other, love needs to realize that your beloved is also a human being with all kind of sensual emotional feelings and all kind of nerves and veins to feel the bitterness harshness or soothing…
People have turned LOVE into a joke and they play with word I LOVE YOU…Thats real absurd and truly Condemn able…
Please learn that when word ” STILL” Comes in the ways of your love for someone,it means your LOVE RELATIONSHIP IS ACTUALLY DEAD AND WITH WORD “STILL” YOU ARE TRYING TO RESP ORATE YOUR DYING/DEAD LOVE,WHICH IF BY CHANCE AGAIN STARTS BREATHING,IT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AS SICK LOVE ULTIMATELY DIES FOR SURE…
So be wise and be mature enough that you are not re fooled by love or by the word “STILL” you get driven to the HAVOC of your life…
LOVE BORN ONCE AND IT DIES ONCE…There is no word ” STILL” in love…AND THERE IS NO REBIRTH OF LOVE FOR THE SAME PERSON ONCE TURNED HIS/HER BACK ON YOUR LOVE…

Sleeping on your Stomach forces your lower back into extension, and adds pressure to your lower back. It also puts unnecssary strain on your neck as pillows tend to be quite a bit higher than the mattress. The neck gets forced into extension even more so than the lower back, which could leave you with a crimp in your neck when you wake up in the morning. The body’s weight compresses the lungs, preventing a fully expanded deep breath. It also exerts unnecessary pressure on the breasts

It was also found that sleeping on one’s back was one of the WORST sleeping posture for: – sleep apnea; – back pain in pregnancy; – coughing attacks; – irregular or periodic breathing; – asthma; – health of pregnant women; – sleep paralysis and terrifying hallucinations; – nocturnal asthma; – health of geriatric inpatients; – pulmonary tuberculosis treated by thoracoplasty; – asthma and allergies; – snoring, hypopneas and apneas; – chronic respiratory insufficiency; – heart failure with sleep apnea; – bruxism and clenching episodes; and – stroke in elderly patients. 1993)

To avoid these problems, we recommend sleeping on your side. To make it even better – Add comfort and reduce stress on the hips by putting a pillow between your knees. Use a pillow of moderate height to support the head. Try a water pillow that can be easily adjusted. If there is room, stretch arms out front.

Here are some Hadith that show the Islamic way of sleeping…

814. Al-Bara’ ibn ‘Azib said, “When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to retire to his bed, he would lie on his right side and then say, ‘O Allah, I surrender my soul to You and I turn my face to You and I entrust my affair to You and I seek Your support with hope and fear of You. There is no refuge from You but to You. I have believed in Your Book which You sent down and Your Prophet whom You sent.'” [al-Bukhari]

815. Al-Bara’ ibn ‘Azib reported: ‘The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to me, ‘Whenever you go to bed, do wudu’ as you do wudu’ for the prayer and then lie down on your right side. Then say…'” and he mentioned the rest of it and in it is, “Make that the last of the words that you utter.” [Agreed upon]

816. ‘A’isha said, “The Prophet , may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to pray eleven rak’ats at night. When it was dawn, he would pray two quick rak’ats and then lie on his right side until the mu’adhdhin came and gave the adhan.” [Agreed upon]

Tapping into Pakistan‘s Massive Oil and Gas Reserves – Reason Behind WAR Against TERRORISM in PAKISTAN specially in Tribal areas.

Pakistan’s Tribal Areas (FATA) and Frontier Regions (FR) are believed to have massive reserves of oil and natural gas—which Pakistani officials have suddenly become very keen to demonstrate. But this is a highly restive, war-torn area where one right move could make all the difference, and one wrong move could ignite a conflict with irreversible consequences.

For now, the area remains unexplored and it was only in 2008 when Pakistani geologists began to study the area in earnest, with the support of the local authorities in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and the Frontier Region (FR). The results of this research were collected, processed and digitized in June 2012. The geologists discovered seven new oil and gas seepages during the mapping. The geologists also claim that 11 oil and gas exploration companies have already reserved 16 blocks in Fata.

The potential:

•    Pakistani geologists say Fata in particular is poised to become a “new oil state” whose production could rival Dubai’s in only five years
•    The FR is bursting at the seams with gas, so they say

Here’s what the interest looks like so far:

•    17 companies have initiated operations in Fata/FR (in Khyber, Orakzai, North and South Waziristan, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Tank and DI Khan) and those areas are under drone attacks of …..,

•    Tullow has been active in Pakistan since 1991,…

Not a single political party of Pakistan mention it in their manifesto or future and economic growth of the country, Hardly they visit and make political gatherings over their scare to die in DRONE…………………………………………

BUT THERE IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD….

Twenty years ago this week the US Federal Government killed 75 people at the Branch Davidian Compound in Waco, TX, many were women and children as young as one year old, who were never accused of any crime.

At the time, some people justified the killing by saying that the “children were being abused”, a charge which was false (see, PBS Frontline, FBI documents etc.) – as if, even if true, it would somehow justify their murder.

Today those same government apologists and now a new generation make excuses for Obama‘s drone war murders of children using similar excuses.

For hundreds of years, governments have proven themselves the greatest danger to its people and global peace. Governments have killed far more of their own people than any other form of violence.

Our founders recognized the urgent need to balance citizen and government power. Ironically, today, 20 years after Waco, government’s main focus is taking rights from citizens and expanding the very agency responsible for Waco while fretting over a small reduction in spending increases.

As long as we hold true to the Bill of Rights and keep power in the hands of the people we can make episodes like Waco an anomaly. It is when, and only when, we forget the wisdom of the founders, trample the Rights and expand government that we move towards more much disaster or worse. As long as we keep true to those rights we preserve what makes us great.
